Program details: Growing an Online Presence – Cultivating Impact through the IPPS SR Website, Newsletter, and Social Media

In the age of social media, cultivating an online presence to grow your business can be just as important as cultivating high quality plants. Many of us will find ourselves needing to engage with potential customers through the internet and social media apps, although we (or our staff) may not feel confident in our tech skills or comfortable on social media. As a grower/researcher turned digital communications manager and online educator, I will be discussing my experiences managing the IPPS-SR website and newsletter, including strategies for how members may take advantage of these resources to promote and potentially grow their own businesses.

Bio: Laura Barth is the IPPS SR Digital Communications Manager, an Extension Assistant in the NCSU Consumer and Commercial Horticulture program where she teaches and develops online continuing education classes in partnership with Longwood Gardens, and a consultant and contributor for DK publishing. She has a BS and MS in horticulture, with a minor in soil science, from North Carolina State University.
