Bio: Dr. Tim Smalley, Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus, University of Georgia, is the Local Chair for the 2022 meeting in Athens. He cultivated his horticultural expertise as a: student gardener at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, tree farmer at Disney World, assistant director of the Cornell University Botanical Garden, and extension scientist for the Middle Tennessee Nursery Industry. At UGA, he taught Nursery Management, Landscape Horticulture, and Woody Plant Identification. For his Art and Gardens of the Grand Tour Study Abroad course and his tour company, Paradise Found Garden Tours, he has led over 40 European Garden Tours.
