Dear IPPS-SR Members,
I hope everyone has finally recovered from a whirlwind IPPS-SR annual meeting in Orlando. Although each day is filled with activities from sunrise to well beyond sundown, I always cherish the time catching up with friends (some I haven’t seen in a year!). And of course, I enjoyed all the new places we got to visit and the wealth of knowledge that was shared (on the tours and in the educational sessions). I express my gratitude to Michale Roe for his leadership and vision as President this past year. I also extend a collective “Thank You!!” to Todd Gentry (Local Site Chair for Orlando) and his committee for lining up such a robust lineup of tour stops and acknowledge all the work it takes to make it successful.
I should probably introduce myself as your new President for the upcoming year. It is an honor to represent an organization that has contributed so much to my professional life and that welcomes everyone from our industry to seek and share their knowledge and experiences. On a personal note, I have met so many new friends through IPPS-SR and truly enjoy the stories shared by all the IPPS “icons” I have encountered along this journey.
This year I am looking forward to working with our Executive Committee, including the most recent additions of Jane Stanley (Atticus LLC.) and Keith Mearns (Verdant Nursery). Collectively we will start focusing on some of the initiatives outlined in our Strategic Plan. Please share any feedback or new ideas you have for future events. The holiday season is upon us so make sure to enjoy quality time with your family and friends.
Wishing y’all a Happy Thanksgiving!
